Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing farm-based environment where young people aged 9+ and post-16 students can grow, learn, and thrive. Through practical experiences in animal care, construction, horse care, art, horticulture and fitness, we empower young people to discover their potential, build resilience, and develop the skills they need for life beyond the classroom.
A range of studies over many years indicate that exposing children to natural surroundings and developing curriculum that incorporate outdoor learning opportunities can improve cognitive performance and emotional intelligence.
Time spent at Stablemates opens young people up to new ways of learning, better ways of processing their feelings and emotions, space to deal with their anxieties allowing us to tackle the personal challenges facing us everyday.

By combining the natural environment with hands-on practice in all of our activities, we create rich opportunities for growth that go far beyond the traditional classroom. Our vision is to inspire young people to discover their strengths, express their creativity, and embrace challenges as part of their personal journey.
We are committed to building pathways that lead to further education, training, and employment, while also fostering the personal skills needed for life—compassion, responsibility, and community spirit. Through collaboration with schools, families, and local services, we aim to create an inclusive environment where learning is not just about academic success, but about equipping young people with the confidence and tools to build meaningful futures.
